How I can add to my e-books manybooks.net ipod touch?
What format should I download and how do I add them to my iPod? itunes? thank you very much appreciated.
I love e-books, and I like the iPhone. For a long time, I was very frustrated by how difficult it was to get books iPhone. The desire to read the latest work of Cory Doctorow's Little Brother, took me to dig a little deeper and I'm happy to say that this is not really a mission impossible! Note that this method should also work with the iPod touch. This is what you do: 1. Get a jailbroken iPhone. There are many ways to jailbreak your iPhone. Please note can be broken ("bricks") in your phone and void your warranty. That said, I used ZiPhone to jailbreak my iPhone and it was pretty painless. 2. Once your iPhone is jailbroken, you should have a new icon called Installer on your iPhone. Installer.app is a powerful tool to browse, download, install and manage third party applications on the iPhone. 3. Using the installer find and install Books.app. This is an electronic book reader for iPhone. There is a class installer Books which immediately can be installed to read eBooks. Now was not that hard, right? So how can we get more e-books on the iPhone? That part is not so simple. There are several ways to do this (using SCP iPHUC, etc), but they all require some technical skill. I found a simpler to do, and it is manybooks.net. Manybooks.net is a considerable deposit of electronic books to the public in a variety of formats (PDF, Mobipocket, Palm DOC, HTML, etc.) It also has a mobile version that works with the iPhone. * Go to manybooks.net and create an account. This service is free. * Create a library. You can browse the site and add manybooks.net ebooks in your library. * Open Installer.app on the iPhone * Press on "Sources" at the bottom of the screen * Press the "Edit" then "Add" and enter the URL of its new platform – something like http://manybooks.net/shelf/38 * Press the "Done" * Go to "Install" and select the category ManyBooks to view your selections. This is where I faced a number of issues. After the installation of a book, it would Installer.app error message. However, when I opened Books.app, the electronic book is indeed installed correctly. Hopefully, once we have the iPhone App Store up, we'll have an easier way to browse, buy, download and read eBooks on the iPhone. While So I am very happy with this method.
