all books published before 1923
The audio book reading is possible with new books …?

I'm wanting to make my own audio books from my own collection of books (because I think the availability of free audio books that interest me or people my age to be very poor) and maybe make a website from my collection. No selling, but for download Free. I'm sure I'm not allowed to do … Is it a violation of the laws of copyright war if distributed or even distributed free to all books? I have heard of some websites that have read "public domain" (books published before 1923), but I really want to read more books than last times. Is there any way to do it legally or not? A Thank you in advance.

No, not legal. You can try to contact the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) at the Library of Congress. Perhaps we could use a player of volunteers and address the issue of copyright. I'm a librarian.
