What the collection – which is a hobby or an obsession?
People collect, collate, store and accumulate almost everything. Some are made on the screen (such as fine arts), but others remain in attics and basements, sealed forever. People collect almost anything, including: bills, coins, policies, cookie jars, autographs, sports memorabilia, jewelry, Pez dispensers, snow bowls, seals, vinyl records, sports cards, comics, toys, pottery, jewelry …. why the list is endless.
People always have something that is collected as a hobby or investment. In fact, one of U.S. coin collectors started to collect coins in 1817 and was a collection of U.S. cents each year. But the coin has a history dating back to ancient times when the ancient Romans interested in and collected Greek and Roman coins.
There have been many famous people who have collected one thing or another. It has been reported that some U.S. attorneys has accumulated a collection of more than 200,000 railroad spikes and a Russian countess collected wedges that had belonged to the rich and famous. King Louis XIV of France enjoyed its daily visit to the French Royal Collection of the currency, saying he could "always find something new to learn." Moreover, the actor Buddy Ebsen, who played the lovable hillbilly Jed Clampett, loved collecting antiques. The flamboyant rock star Freddie Mercury of Queen, was an avid stamp collector as a child. Many Famous musicians have huge collections vinyl record, including Peter Buck (REM), Peter Wolf (of J. Geils Band) and Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth), to name a few.
Many fans collection have "subgenres." For example, vinyl record collection can be divided into a number of specific categories. Could be collected specific genres of music (Big Band, Jazz, Classical, etc.) or be partial to a particular label, such as the Capitol, Reprise, RCA, Colombia and many others. Some may also collect 45, picture discs, CD covers, colored vinyl, picture discs …. Finally, get the idea. Is well known that the famous pop artist Robert Crumb (who designed the album cover for the famous Janis Joplin "Cheap Thrills" LP) liked the collection 78 rpm discs and had accumulated a good collection.
Maybe you know someone who collects Pez dispensers. May have celebrities, cartoon characters, specific colors and different years of release and so on. comic book collectors can also collect a specific type of comic books of superheroes, Archie comics Adult comics, cartoons and even Disney comics in years black and white.
But exactly why do people collect? They might have a measure of satisfaction and pleasure of seeing only the things they collect. Sometimes, the nostalgia bug that forces people to pick objects of a particular season. It could be an element that is associated with childhood, a celebrity or a world renowned event. Some collect for the intrinsic value of an element, and the fact that the element may be desirable to others and may order a profit if sold. An element can also have a source that could force a specific interest.
Now pick an obsession or some form of "Fever Rat Pack? The Webster dictionary defines the word" understand the meaning of "collecting (stamps, books. Etc) for a hobby" A collection is something that can be collected, tailored to the libraries. For an amateur age class of things, but not old, charged as a hobby "It further specifies that the collector is" a person who collects stamps, books, etc as a hobby. "The products are also available with the "recovery" in mind, such as "limited edition" items like vinyl records, coins, stamps and even cookie jars.
In addition, the collector market has expanded in recent years, driven by annual price guides, books on the subject, TV, collectibles, conventions and Internet auction sites, the library market is a global phenomenon. Also there are professionals who specialize in a particular market and share your experience and help even the value of these collectibles. There is a science of all kinds in the form of "quality" collecting some (eg mint, just excellent, etc) and most of the time-critical condition. All these factors drive the market and help create an opportunity factor for certain products and articles.
But the missing element in the dictionary definition of "library" is the motivation and passion people can have of what they collect. So let's go a little more with our definition of "collection." We'll define it as: The art of acquisition of goods or products that are particularly passionate and want to keep, either for financial gain or personal satisfaction. To explore this definition in detail.
Is there an art collection? It certainly is. You should know where to find exactly what you're looking for. Be collecting vinyl records. Better put an ad in a trade publication, local or national press, online store, or continue with the search methods and garage sale? What go to the convention "record" that take place in the larger cities of the country? Is this the best way forward? There is an art (some would call a science) to know where the best place to find collectibles that might be looking.
In addition, the dictionary definitions of the collection, a key word missing passion. There is a direct correlation with the drive and motivation of a person feels and how it can be in the acquisition of his collection. It is very important, the enthusiasm of a person, the passion is what makes everything we can charge a pleasant experience. And, of course, more to put in the library, more than they receive in return, not only in monetary terms, but simply the most fun you continue your hobby.
The next time you shake head to your spouse, friend or family member and call a rat pack, remember they are not only passionate about what they do, but really find a lot excitement and satisfaction of individual to do what they do. It is one of the most rewarding and enjoyable to do.
