This is a very silly question about the New York bestsellers list for a #?
Whenever I see books saying that the New York Times Bestseller List #, And forgive my ignorance, but how does that work exactly? All books can not be number one? Or is it just for example, books or authors (I guess) have been number one at some point? even for a day? Sorry if I offend someone, but I really want to know how this system works.
The list (S) are based on book sales reports from retailers. NYT shops there is a certain randomness to it and so the publishers do not seek to attack the play list some stores. There are probably additional algorithm used, but basically is the number of books sold in the store. As to the authors, reached # 1 on the list New York Times once again becomes his first name. So will your next book of the New York Times # 1 best-selling author's name. And so, with all his other books, even if they break the top 15.
