The worst / best books on the list of the classics?
Basically I have to choose one of the following books as part of my summer reading for my AP English course grade 12. What (s) do you recommend and which one (s) should I absolutely avoid? (Im leaning Passage to India in time now, but I'm not insurance) of Jane Austen's Emma Jones by Henry Fielding Tom Moll Flanders Defoe's Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, Daniel Middlemarch by George Eliot Vanity Fair William Makepeace Thackeray's son and the father Dead Souls by Ivan Turgenev Niola Gogala Anna Karenina Leo Tolstoy Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert The Age of Innocence Edith Wharton Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte Billy Budd, Herman Melville An American Tradgedy Dreiser Lord Jim by Joseph Conrad Theodore Passage to India by EM Forster, Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse Undefeated William Faulkner feel the list is so long!
I recommend: Emma, David Copperfield, Vanity Fair, Karenina and Wuthering Heights. Anna Emma is a fun and easy to read David Copperfield is Dickens so it would be an educational experience.) Vanity Fair is hilarious, ie at least. Anna Karenina is long, but very well written. literature Russia is good, especially Tolstoy. Wuthering Heights is dark, but romantic, if your style, I recommend it. I would avoid the books of Virginia Woolf, William Faulkner, Herman Melville. Woolf and Faulkner often write stream of consciousness novels can be difficult, and Melville is just plain boring.
