Over 40 and dismissed?
Doing nothing
Probably not the first advice that you expect to get!
When that are dismissed, the range of emotions they feel can be overwhelming. You become your own worst critic, and start uploading all the reasons why he lost his job. At home, you will hear more of the members of his family, but perhaps not directly.
You you feel like a failure. Their self-esteem took a blow, and feel depressed and confused. You feel angry and you do not know what to do art. You rush forward in search of new jobs, and the frantic activity ….
Stop – poor focus.
Instead, take some time for reflection. Chances are that I did not like the work or the work itself. In private, you're a little excited to be free from this prison jobs, even if you do not want to admit to anyone at this time.
It's time to escape. It can be for a days or weeks. Do nothing during this time, except to think deeply about what you want in your life and what activities bring you the most joy. This is short space of time thinking seriously about who you are and you want to make a contribution. Do not miss this opportunity.
Forget money
Of course, Immediate concerns are likely revolve around how to pay the bills next month. The ideal is to use other resources to save time. After 40, we need more time than money.
There is probably nothing to do in the next two weeks will make a difference in the short term. Instead of working on your resume, make a plan of money to get through the next 1-3 months.
It's a once in a lifetime opportunity to actually invest the time to think.
What work has to go through you now? No description door unit is never the right one for you. Must come from you. When do you most want help in the world right now? Why is it important to you?
It is the most important question to be answered to your life and why they are here.
Educate yourself
Once we have defined what really passionate, it's time to educate yourself.
Who does the job you want to do more? Read everything you can. The more I read, the more inspired you will get. Finally, you can choose to participate in studies formal, but for now just to collect enough data to help you feel good about their choice of work.
When you work on learning and what you like, and what really interests you, you will not be able to distinguish between work and play. Soon, his vocation becomes a lifetime of holidays.
In contrast, most of us only have jobs. The difference between our work and the rest of our lives is very clear. Your life can be better than that!
Make sure
If you work for yourself or others, the process should be the same. What exactly are your greatest gifts, and what you like best? What types of services or products can create and sell other people who use their unique gifts?
What are the features and benefits offered? What is the ideal niche audience you and your products and services?
Say, for example, you want to design artwork. You think, "Who Who would buy that I like to do? "Do you think a little more and realize that it could develop profitable restaurant menu appeals to people in restaurants. His special menus based, ingredients, users. Restaurant owners would benefit because customers more information about restaurants, and what they have to offer. Then comes another thought: you could write a newsletter, the screen of your trade mark for restaurant owners advice mark your restaurants!
You decide to call this activity "creative menus.'re Up and running.
The same logic work if you love to help animals or software design. The reason we see for many layoffs in the business world today is that most organizations do not know not how to develop entrepreneurship and creativity to attract within their companies.
Make a plan
Enter your vision of your day professional perfect. Without this vision, you will not have the motivation to continue. Most people do not change anything in their lives until the pain of not changing is greater than first discomfort associated with change.
Most job seekers inconsistently. They look for them! Most jobs are not were designed to first.
You pass the days and months of networking, waiting for a job come to you. The work probably come to you one day, but it is very quick look at the jail last job
There is a strong tendency to revert to what we have done before only because they knew and were ok. After 40 years, it becomes essential to avoid this trap.
First define a plan, and steps for create what you want. So, you know where to look and how to begin to build exactly what would be perfect for you.
Recently fired?
Congratulations! You have a unique, perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity to learn more you know and ask better questions of yourself. Be careful what you ask, because the job you choose to help determine the type of person you become.
Take this pink slip and run to the nearest beach reflection and peace. This is the best gift you can give now.
