Can we travel to Costa Rica without the use of the tour?
My wife and I are planning a 10-day trip to Costa Rica with our 18 month old son. Travel, but never one of those trips that are a bit limiting for what they want to see and do. Most of what I see online for Costa Rica referred to travel. Can we buy tickets, book hotels, rent a car, have a good guide (the new key to Costa Rica) and be able to find canopy tours and other activities on his own after his arrival in Costa Rica? Or is it better to go with a packaged tour to make your trip with a baby or toddler? We would like to spend a few days in the Arenal, Monteverde and the Caribbean coast (perhaps Limón / Tortuguero).

Let me tell you, the volcano is almost always in the clouds and can not be see the volcano. The area is too expensive and not much to do there, except for tourist attractions such as smoking expensive and Baldi Hot Springs. Instead, try your first night at Hotel Martino in Alejuala, rental car and go the first day of the Poas volcano for a day trip and Waterfall Gardens La Paz. Then head to Jaco in the Central Pacific Coast (totally ignoring Lemon, dangerous, a port city not much to see there, and go Tortuguera unless you want to catch tarpon, snook and mosquitoes). Moving from the east coast, unless you're a surfer and wants to Puerto Viejo and head across the border with Panama in Boca Del Toros and you're a guy and not twisted rasta living care summaries dirty, hot and humid and people. Call the east coast of the Mosquito Coast and call the west coast of the Costa Dorada. The West Coast is more expensive, but you can choose the level you want to pay expenses. overnight in Jaco in the Vista Pacifica Hotel stay, then head to Manuel Antonio, a stay in Hotel Costa Verde (expensive but worth it) or try to Villas Nicolas. Be sure to go to the national park there, (closed Monday) and get early bath, bathing suits and bring enough food to go through the needs and baby food. Marlin eating out when leaving the park, beachfront try the ceviche or black bean soup. Eating in Red Beard cocktails at night and in the evening at the Hotel Mariposa (ask for directions to these places about 5 minutes).
