What are the most beautiful hotels and safer near the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg, S. Africa?
I'm going in June 2010 but need to reserve the room as soon as you please give me a list of hotels in places that are perhaps a good walking distance of the stadium? links if possible, need e-mail thanks a million!
Soccer City is located south of Johannesburg, near Soweto. There are many small B & B in Soweto, but is recommended only if you want to get the first hand full of "Africa" experience, not necessarily the most luxurious, etc. You may want to stay in a hotel in Gold Reef City (also in southern Johannesburg), who is prettier in a safer, less than 5 kilometers from the stadium and other tourist attractions near an amusement park and several museums. Alternatively, if you want something more elegant and luxurious, most hotels tend four or five stars are in Sandton area, north Johannesburg. Although this is probably about 20 km from the stadium, there will be adequate transport to the stadium and I'm sure most hotels offer shuttle service to the stadium during the World Cup. As another respondent, he said, although the center is near the hotels want to avoid, because it probably is a lower level, not safer.
