What makes people get so involved with books/movies like Harry Potter and Twilight?
Many people, myself included, yet pulled into fiction books and worlds from books or movies. Is there a psychological reason for why this happens? For example, I heard that people actually killed themselves after seeing “Avatar”. Not sure if this is true.

Perhaps the ability of people to get involved in a book or movie can be likened to someone who’s obsessed with making money, or being thin, or stalking an ex-lover. Maybe the only difference between obsession with a movie and other obsessions is how the rest of society perceives it.
