Do you think that amazon de-ranking certain books has a religious slant to it?
Amazon.com is de-ranking books so they can’t as easily be found in searching for them. Books that have been de-ranked are given the excuse of “adult” and some of them are, but others are no more explicit than a standard romance novel–and some are non-fiction and young adult, including books ranked for those between 9-12, while Nora Roberts hasn’t been touched.
Some of the material does have a heterosexual slant, so I’m not ignoring those at all, but a lot of it — more than half by lists I’ve seen are considered GLBT.
Do you think this has a religious slant on it? Or is it more about politics or something else?
Follow the daisy chain far enough and anything that is “political” and anti-gay, or “anything else” and anti-gay, has religion behind it.
