books on board of directors
charitable giving as a gift of thanks?

We stayed at the friend's father Lakehouse one this weekend. These people have money gifts for a word of thanks is a bit complicated. I thought of the following ideas … What do you think? 1) gift card for $ 25 at Barnes & Noble (the mother is an avid reader of books) 2) donation of $ 25 in the regional food bank (the father is a board member) that I thought none would work, but it is rare make a donation in their honor (to them) when it is a board member? Or do they appreciate serious, especially since they are apparently active in community service. I can not send flowers or food BC Lakehouse going to your weekend if it would spoil. PS I do not know very well, they met briefly in passing. So these are ideas based on what little we know about them. Thanks for your help!

It is my belief that charitable donations should be done with humility and private sectors and are not "gifts" for others, unless requested in lieu of other traditional gifts (like flowers to a funeral). I understand it is difficult to find a gift for "people with money," but please remember the old adage: "It's the thought that counts." So instead of a gift card from Barnes and Noble, why actually not go there to pick up a book that looks interesting to submit your manuscript thanks. Or better yet, buy the book and out of the cab and let them know in the note is there waiting. something to buy or cab …. You could use a new sofa throw some clothes or towels or pillows or a guestbook or a lawn chair or other ????? Or herb garden or change the batteries in all smoke detectors ….. be creative. When a rental property that is used by several people who "need a people "to keep. Good luck!
