5 facts you should know about leadership
Much has been written about leadership: rules, gauges, styles and biographies of inspiring leaders in world history. However, there are certain leadership ideas that we are not able to recognize and realize in the context of reading books. Here's a short list of things I thought I knew about leadership.
1. Leaders come in different flavors.
There are different types of leaders and will probably find more than one person in your life. Formal leaders are those we elect into positions or offices, as senators, congressmen and presidents of local clubs. Leaders informal or those we admire for his wisdom and experience as in the case of tribal elders, or our grandparents, or by virtue of their experience and contribution in a field determined, as Albert Einstein in the field of Theoretical Physics and Leonardo da Vinci in the arts. Both formal and informal leaders practice a combination of styles leadership.

2. Leadership is a process of becoming.
Although some people seem born with innate leadership qualities, without a suitable environment and exposure can not develop their potential. Knowledge on leadership theories and skills may be formally gained by enrolling in leadership seminars, workshops and conferences. Effective leadership requires members to do their own work. From one group of people, members and leaders work towards the formation of an effective team. In this context, social interaction plays an important role in leadership. To learn to work together requires a great amount of trust between two or more leaders and members of an emerging team. Trust is built on actions and not just words. When there is mutual respect, trust is fostered and confidence is built.
5. Leadership styles depend on the situation.

Outside of culture, beliefs, value system and governance, the current situation of a nation also affects the leadership styles used by its formal leaders. There is no a style rule that can be used. Most of the time, leaders use a combination of leadership styles, depending on the situation. Thus, a leader can not afford to consult with all departments to arrive at crucial decisions.
The case is of course different in times of peace and order in different sectors and other branches of government interact participate freely and government. Another example is in leading organizations. When staff are highly motivated and competent, a combination of high and moderate delegative styles participative leadership is most appropriate.
