My Love Is Your Love $4.71 Rumors of a greatest-hits package had been flying, but as millions of converts held their breath, Whitney Houston headed into the studio only to emerge–amid a flurry of drama screaming “diva” (a live Web broadcast of the international press conference revealing the album, and a veil of secrecy shrouding the new material)–with her first nonsoundtrack album in eight years. So is it worth all the h… |

98 Degrees & Rising $2.16 The soul-tinged harmonies 98 Degrees showcased in the top 10 hit “Because of You” are far more credible than those of other late-’90s teen-beat groups, but then there’s plenty of star-making power behind the scenes: producers Trackmasters and Pras provide the funk on the ’70s-esque “Heat It Up” and “Fly with Me,” respectively; Stevie Wonder cameos on “True to Your Heart”; and the powerful ballad “… |

Dumb & Dumber [VHS] $0.01 Delivering exactly what its title promises, this celebration of stupidity was Jim Carrey’s 1994 follow-up to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective and The Mask. The film pairs the rubber- faced wacky man with Jeff Daniels as the not-so-dynamic duo of Lloyd and Harry, dunderheads who come into the possession of a briefcase containing ransom money that is intended for Mob-connected kidnappers. Lauren Holly co… |

The Thomas Crown Affair [VHS] $0.01 For the Hollywood remake rule, which dictates that an update of an older film be inferior to the original in almost every aspect, The Thomas Crown Affair stands as a glorious exception. The original 1968 film, starring a dapper Steve McQueen and a radiant Faye Dunaway, was a diverting pop confection of mod clothes and nifty break-ins, but not much more. John McTiernan’s new version, though, cranks… |
