How do cite an essay MLA style??
Im talking about citing inside my paper. Not the works cited. I know that if I was quoting a book it goes: “quote here” (author’s name, page number). What do I do for an essay?? MLA style please. Not APA.

citationmachine.net gives me what I should put at my works cited. That is not what I want. I need to find out how to cite it in my paper itself.

I know to put it in quotation marks. However, I thought I was supposed to put something else after that. Im supposed to have something in parenthesis. I need to know what that is.
You mean you are going to quote an essay within the body of your paper? Depending on the length of the quote, you can either put it in quotations within the body of the paragraph or indent on both sides and give it a paragraph of its own if it is a lengthy quotation.
