different types of books genres
why is there such a debate about Harry Potter vs Twilight?

why is there such a debate between these 2 books/series in particular?? To me they seem to be 2 different types of books entirely – and only really share a common theme of being a fantasy genre.

Ive read all 7 harry potter books (multiple times) … and am a vivid fangirl of the series. Ive recently started the Twilight series and am currently at the start of the 2nd book. DONT GIVE ANYTHING / SPOILERS AWAY PLEASE!!!

can someone just fill me in on why there is such a big debate? i love them both – though more HP atm because ive read them longer :P

thankies in advanced :P

People debate because fans of Harry Potter tend to be better read and able to understand complicated plot lines and character development (thus rightly disliking the Twilight series) and fans of Twilight tend to be more of the omgEdwardRULEZ mindset and think that a (crappy, shallow and abusive) romance story somehow trumps an actual plot.
