I met Paul Tibbets, once at an airshow. Paul Tibbets was in favor of dropping the bomb in 1945 and never changed his mind about the correctness of this decision. How did their life that made him famous, and forced answer questions about the decision to drop the bomb. If the pump had to be removed, then the war would have lasted much longer and Colonel Tibbets may have been down in Japan and has to land in the Pacific. The war lasted longer and more Americans have died. The Japanese also lost hundreds of thousands. The launch of the pump will actually save lives.
