the fact that you said ‘online’ kinda says to me that you’re not *really* serious about learning. i.e. “I want to learn but if it involves leaving my chair or investing any money then I can’t be arsed”. you also want to learn fast, which kind of says “if I have to invest too much time, then I’m not interested”.
Having said that you could have very little time and by fast you meant “I’m prepared to work crazy hard to reach a high level quickly”! So I apologize! Don’t kid yourself though because it *is* hours and hours of work. But there are actually some excellent resources online. I would make a list but just check out this blog, it’ll tell you all you need to know.

It’s written by a guy who learned Japanese to high fluency in 18months by doing nothing but Japanese study. After just 18months he was good enough to have a phone interview with a Japanese company and get a job. Now that’s dedication. Bear in mind that some people do 4 years a uni and can still barely hold a conversation.
