My Mac will not let me delete this file!?
I have two pdf files that my Mac tells me quietly that can not be removed because they are in use. I tried deleting several times and transmitted the same message. Am I destined to have this crap on my computer forever? If I set up the time machine and return the ebooks I've done since then have gone?
I'm a PC user, but if I remember Mac have a Unix terminal. Open, navigate to the directory that the files are and type "rm-filename.pdf Rf "without the quotes (filename is the name of the file). I would caution you to be careful with this method of file deletion, and that deleting the file incorrect (a file system or a program file), it will ruin your computer (or program). It's fine for PDF files.
