How to create 3D games? (C++ or C#) 10 POINTS FOR BEST ANSWER!!!!?
I don’t want to learn XNA because it’s like F!*@#ing machine language to me. I read this book on programming with C++, and now I’m good with C++. Instead of making models, shaders, animation, and postioning and rendering objects, I’m making dinky and silly projects in the command prompt. Anybody know ebooks or any website that can help me learn this. I want to be a game programmer when I grow up. I’m 14 years old. Thanks!!!
You should start using an open source engine like orgre3d (http://www.ogre3d.org).
you could also take a look at the G3D engine (http://g3d-cpp.sourceforge.net/), which is also open source. Both are kinda complicated to handle, especially G3D. But G3D is made for the use with C++, it in fact is a C++ engine.
Other libraries are Allegro (http://www.liballeg.org/) it’s crossplattform so it would also work on linux or even MacOS X. The cool thing about Allegro is that it comes with a great documentation and many examples to learn how to use it.
Other C++ game engines are:
ClanLib
Gamebryo
Medusa (Used in DarkSpace!)
I hope I could help you
