Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), colloquially known as "OH-sha" is a public institution from 7 to 12 grade charter school located in downtown Santa Ana, Orange County, California. Young school students from colleges and secondary schools talents in the visual and performing arts and literature. The education program prepares students for higher education institutions and / or employment in the professional arts industry. Both the curriculum and the arts are recognized, prompting the U.S. recognition News Better Schools "program.

History
The Orange County High School of the Arts reorganized into a public school on April 20, 2000, and moved its center in Los Alamitos High School in Santa Ana Unified School District. OCHSA is a gift of free education for school depends charter governed by a board representing parents, community, educators, and the Santa Ana Unified School District. The school is also supported by the Orange County High School of the Arts Foundation, an organization nonprofit dedicated to funding free tuition costs arts curriculum and its ongoing expansion plans. The Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation governed by a board of business leaders and cultural leaders. With the development of personal input and guidance the Council Directors of the Foundation provides fund-raising goals, manages the long-term strategic planning, implementation of school capital, relationships public and marketing campaigns, and oversees the funding criteria. Members pay annual dues in fundraising committees, participate in activities school and serve as ambassadors for the community as a whole.
Academics
The Orange County High School of the Arts offers a rigorous academic program that produces high performance, the researchers reasoned. OCHSA school hours are 8:10 a.m. to 4:50 pm Monday through Thursday and from 8:10 a.m. to 13:30 on Friday. The middle school schedule is 8:10 a.m. to 3:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:10 a.m. to 13:30 on Friday.
To 13:30 every day, students attend university courses OCHSA in a block schedule with three classroom instruction per day, alternating each day for a total of six classes. Honors classes are offered as well as many Advanced Placement classes, including AP world history, U.S. AP, AP Physics, AP Statistics, AP Spanish, AP French, AP Literature and Composition, Language AP Calculus AP and composition AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP art history, and AP music theory. OCHSA also has a unique selection of electives, including but not limited Acting, Piano, Ceramics, Graphic Design Makeup, Taekwondo, and photography.
OCHSA, 2008 Academic Performance Index (API) of 871 contained in the school as one of the top five high schools of Orange County and 10 percent in California.
OCHSA has been named Blue Ribbon School (Education in the United States the first prize in a particular school) in 2006 by the U.S. Department of Education. OCHSA was one of 250 schools recognized Blue Ribbon National in 2006, among the 35 schools in the State of California and five public schools in Orange County. OCHSA was also named California Distinguished School.

Art Attack Live
Art Attack live throughout 2004-2005
The Live Art Attack "is OCHSA live broadcast every day on TV ads the day. The show began broadcasting a group of four students of Film and Television (Jarrett Fein and Nunes Michael Wilkinson, Robert Ryan and aspects Cameras technical) of winter in September 2003.
Today, the crew is composed mostly of students from the School of Leadership (ASB) class, the film and television OCHSA no winter. The program is broadcast from one of the two studies OCHSA live television production building technology. School students have the opportunity to audition for the hosts. This show is full of creative people who attack a very interesting and unique art OCHSA.
Arts
After 14:00 from Monday to Thursday, the school focuses on arts education, which is divided into 11 provisional: Production and Design, Ballet Folklorico, ballet and contemporary dance music, creative writing, film and television, in Art, Instrumental Music (Piano Instrumental divided into classical and jazz) Music and Theatre (divided into musical theater, drama and vocals), Opera, and visual arts. Conservatory ends at 4:50 if students can stay later if necessary repeat or work.
James P. Blaylock, a fiction writer is the director of the Department of Creative Writing at OCHSA. The writer is the ministry of internal award-winning author Invented by Tim Powers. Each month, the academy has a creative writing reading.
The instrumental music department has many concerts throughout the year and Carnegie Hall in New York in the spring of 2006. His Symphony Orchestra, directed by Chris Russell, held at the Sydney Opera House in the summer of 2008.
The Design and Conservatory OCHSA designed the costumes, lighting, audio and makeover games for over 125 performances in schools each year. This year marks a new director, Kevin Cook, and many new teachers, among them Aaron Kokesch Wally Huntoon, Scott Gibson and Ray Collins.
The most important event is the Annual Final OCHSA campaign to be held in early June at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. Final recognizes outstanding seniors graduate, the information in each winter, theater, performances instrumental and often in value of performance parts this year.

Extended hours OCHSA presents a challenge for some students. Most of the students to perform their specific art after school and is still time to complete their tasks. Campus
OCHSA campus is an office tower of seven stories (formerly a bank) and three buildings that surround it. The roof of the tower main bank is still in use as a work area for teachers and, sometimes, an octagonal theater.

OCHSA has two campus locations. Symphony Hall, a theater that has most medium to large OCHSA performance that was once a historic church Christian Science before being transformed into a theater. The room contains a theater, a team rehearsal, rehearsal rooms for instrumental musicians separated, a winery and a library for writers, a front of house sound booth and a balcony overlooking the auditorium of students in the production and design. OCHSA "Annex" is a combination of two white buildings with no windows, connected by a set of ramps called "Labyrinth of cheese" or "Star Tours" (as proposed by the Vice-director Mike Ciecek). The Annex is home to many dance halls and singing and contains the design and production studio production where the games are OCHSA built and painted. The annex also contains the "Harry Potter" room, a creative writing class at the base of the ladder that connects the two halves of the building. The room contains a collection of sites and books and stuffed pillows and beanbag chairs.
