Why do so many people, including some "Christians" afraid to take the Bible literally?
Why not take the context in which each part was written? Why, if your name is Christian is the Word of God is just a great story, but understanding is easier Rights follow? I am a Christian. My name does not teach the biblical literalism. Participants grew up Christian schools and never once asked to believe that Jonah was swallowed by a real whale, or that Noah put two of each animal an ark. These things defy logic.
