Days before the 11 th anniversary, a Pentecostal pastor of the United States throughout the world vehemently proclaimed that his congregation had burned several copies of the Koran.
The pastor never made explicit their reasons for burning the Koran, but later it he wanted was an advantage over the construction of a mosque near Ground Zero.
The incident has provoked the usual type of incendiary protests throughout the Islamic world. And while Muslims have ranted, the moderates of almost all religious denominations to keep the good shepherd, his anxiety generates threat.
And the rest is history.
book burning by itself is neither new nor illegal. Hitler during the pre-war Germany burned thousands of books that were thought to be corrupt German culture. And it is not fanciful to say that the Bible could have been included in the list of the books burned by its Jewish character.
But the Jews never complain, protest, much less in a manner similar to what Muslims do. Unfortunately for the Jews, burning preceded the Holocaust, in which burned nearly on the stack heap of Nazi gas chambers.
Thus it is said that Once you start burning books, burning people can come in the next.
And this quote grass becomes significant. The books are probably the most important and enduring of all human creations. Perhaps the act of creation itself is actually a sacred.
Great monuments, palaces, etc ruined by time. But the written word and the spirit that came to stay.
However if the spirit of the book is good or bad.
