In self-help books – self-help books help?
What if self-help books only workers who created their problems in the first place? I'm going back to that in a moment. First, I want to say that many books can certainly be useful. A book on how to make speech before a crowd can help in this regard, For example, a book about eating or exercise can be helpful for the better.
But then there are the books that are intended to help become a "better" person in general. Are those in self-esteem, motivation, attitude and image. These make your life better? Some are useful, but There is an obvious error in many of them.
The problem I refer to the excessive concentration on the "I" itself, as it helps to become more strong or "best" is somehow an improvement. Some books recommend claims, for example, used to convince you that you are strong, rich and healthy, without refer to reality. But what kind of fragile confidence when you win is based on this type of position.
Would it be better to have the capacity to be happy and at peace, even if they are weak, poor and sick? There is certainly nothing wrong with the pursuit of power, wealth and health, but related to these results as Much of what you are creating a lot of stress and unnecessary suffering. That is what many "self-help books" encourage you to do.
Really we encourage our ego? It is the same that creates an image of what "should" be, and reminds us (with difficulty) when we do not live with that image. This is the car that says we need to impress others, to be "big" and rush to reach as much as we can to show how "important" for us. He is always with us in comparison to an ideal that he invented and then make us suffer for failing to live up to it.
Following advice of false self is a recipe for mental anguish and pain. So why do we want the self-help books that encourage us to further build and embrace letting go is hard when you really need? Not need books.
This concerns areas which are commonly called spiritual, but the label is not necessary. The simple honest observation can show us all that our true self is composed of, there are parts of ourselves to promote the game of false values on the basis of what the ego insists that it is important. Peace of mind is certainly more useful than one of temporary emotional high, we can get through this kind of "help each other. "
The choice and use of self-help books, then, to prevent those who wanted to promote ego. These include everything suggests that success is a lot of money, better than others, impress people, improve their "image of himself" through deceit, or otherwise creating an "I" that can be demolished. Find people to help you drop the nonsense associated with the "creation" of identity, and help to act in a more profound purpose and a sense of who you are.
