The Lost Years of Jesus
Among the authors of the four Gospels of the Bible, or San Marcos or San Juan does not refer to the life led by Jesus before beginning his ministry. San Mateo limits account for the birth of Jesus, and the subsequent flight of Joseph and Mary to Egypt to escape the death sentence issued Herod.
San Lucas is the only apostle who did not mention Jesus' childhood. In Chapter 2 of his Gospel, he mentioned that was the custom of Joseph and Mary to go to Jerusalem every year to celebrate the feast of Easter. Jesus, of course, accompanied them on these pilgrimages.
On one occasion, especially when Jesus was twelve years old, Joseph and Mary began their journey back to Nazareth after the party was over. But after reading about a day, discovered with horror that Jesus was not with them.
Retrace his steps in haste to Jerusalem, found Jesus in the temple, three days later, "sitting among the teachers, listening and questioning. And all who heard him were astonished at His understanding and answers."
When Mary Jesus confronted, demanding to know what causes so much anxiety, he replied: "How is it that you asked me to know not is that I must be in my Father's business "(Luke 2: 46-49)?
Despite the fact that Jesus is clear in this response was time Start the "Father of work," most Bible interpreters have assumed that Jesus spoke to his father Joseph and his work as a carpenter.
They believe that Jesus returned to Nazareth with his parents after this episode, as Luke describes, and continued to live on site to work with his father as a carpenter for the next eighteen years.
The absence of any mention in the Bible for the missing years of Jesus between the ages of twelve and thirty years, is remains a mystery to researchers seeking a deeper understanding of the formative years of Jesus and spiritual development.
For these scholars, seems clear that if Jesus was able to surprise the religious leaders in the temple with his understanding of spiritual matters and the depth of their answers to the age of twelve, would be very unlikely to return simply to live in Nazareth darkness for eighteen years.
The problem is that researchers no paper trail between Jewish writers of this time to another event in the life of Jesus during the intervening years. But there may be an unexpected answer to this mystery. Perhaps Jesus did not stay in Nazareth that biblical scholars have done.
Perhaps Jesus left Judea and went to other lands in search of spiritual wisdom large. This may well be the case because there is sufficient documentary evidence to show that Jesus also had to leave Israel and travel to the East. These data indicate that your trip took him to places like Nepal, India and Tibet.
In 1908 he published a book intended to reveal the truth about the lost years of Jesus and how he spent eighteen years that preceded his baptism by John in the Jordan, who started the ministry that is described in the four Gospels of the Bible.
The book was called "The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ." Was written by a black American preacher named Levi H. Dowling. Dowling said the information contained in his book was obtained from his reading of the Akashic Records, which was the same source used by sleep "prophet" Edgar Cayce.
Dowling, or "Levi" as he prefers to be called, was born in Belleville, New York, May 1844, and died in August 1911. Being the son of an immigrant preacher Levi Growing up in a very religious family, and early developed a deep zeal for spiritual understanding.
Levi began preaching at the age of sixteen. At the age of twenty he joined the U.S. Army as a chaplain, and served that position until the end civil war. After graduating in two medical schools and practiced medicine until his retirement to concentrate on his writing.
Early in his life Levi was a vision in which he said would "build a white city." This view was repeated three times in the coming years. Only later in his life he realized that the "white city" was, in fact, his book on the life of Jesus.
In his "Aquarian Gospel" Levi describes the episode where the boy Jesus remained in the temple, while her parents returned to Nazareth without him. According to Levi, one of the people who witnessed his meetings with the Temple priests was a rich Indian prince named Ravana.
Ravana came to Jerusalem with a group of Brahmin priests in order to gain a better understanding of the spiritual teachings of the Jews. Hearing the baby Jesus spoke, was so captivated by her wisdom and understanding that followed him back to Nazareth.
Here, Ravana brought Joseph and Mary to Jesus and asked if he could be allowed to travel again The India under his personal protection. Although feared for the safety of their young son, Jesus implores his parents to be allowed to do so.
And Jesus came to Ravana and his group traveled back to Orissa. During years spent in India, Jesus was able to study the "Vedas (sacred texts in Sanskrit), and learn at the feet of the" Rishis "(Masters of Light) in the East.
According to the "Aquarian Gospel", written by Levi, Jesus lived in India for many years before moving to visit the people of Nepal and Tibet. Finally, at the age of twenty-nine, he went to his house to the land of his birth.
There should be no surprise that the "Aquarian Gospel" by Levi was ignored by the Church, and was himself attacked as a charlatan. To date, biblical scholars regard the book as an apocryphal work unworthy of serious study.
However, there remains an important coda to this story. When Western explorers have visited Tibet in the late nineteenth century, came all the records of a Jew "Rishi" who had lived in the East, and surprised everyone who has met with his eloquence and insight into the human heart
In 1894, fourteen years before that the American preacher Levi Dowling published his account of "The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ," a Russian doctor and former officer of Cossacks with the name of Nicolas Notovitch surprised the world with the publication of his. It was called "The Unknown Life of Christ."
Notovitch had traveled extensively throughout Afghanistan, India and Tibet. During one trip to the arid, rocky landscape of Ladakh (Western Tibet), who visited Hemis Buddhist Lamasery located on the outskirts of Leh, the capital of Ladakh.
It was during his visit to this monastery had an accident and broke his leg. This lesion unfortunately had the unintended effect of allowing Notovitch to stay in the monastery as a guest Lamas residence while he was recovering from his accident.
Was while recovering in the Hemis that Notovitch knowledge of old documents about the life of Jesus. He later claimed he had shown that two volumes of an ancient manuscript written in Tibetan script, which refers to "The Life of Saint Issa."
Notovitch Lama persuaded the head reading this manuscript him through an interpreter, was able to record in his travel diary of over two hundred verses contained in the manuscript, said the monk was translated the original "Pali" (Buddhist old) script.
The verses then Notovitch compiled into a book, a man known as Tibetans called "Issa" (pronounced "Isha"). Remember Jesus spoke Aramaic at home, and that his Hebrew name "Yeshua."
According Notovitch, Tibetans ancient scrolls depicting the life of "Issa" (Jesus) from the time of his birth until his death. They told the story of his departure from Jerusalem at the age of thirteen, and his travels through Asia to Varanasi (then called Kashi).
During the years that Jesus (Isa) spent in India and Tibet, which was both a student and a teacher. He studied at the feet Brahman Rishis, learn the Hindu Vedas, and in turn spread his wisdom to all who apply to him for advice, irrespective of their caste.
Not surprisingly, when Nicholas Notovitch return to the West and published the book was based on the notes of his daily journey, his work was rejected by the Church. Yes it was aa attacked fraud and was ridiculed as an imposter.
Foremost among his critics was the German orientalist Max Müller, a famous scholar and author of works as popular as the volume 50 is entitled "The Sacred Books of the East." Muller questioned the existence of these documents, and wrote to the chief Hemis monastery itself.
In response, the head of the monastery not only said it was aware of the existence of a manuscript dealing with the life of a man named "Issa", but actually signed a document they have denounced as a liar Notovitch pure and simple. Critics of the book is thus assured of that its publication was all false.
There was however a small problem. One of the most outspoken critics was a skeptic by the name Indian Notovitch Ahbedananda Swami. Thus, it categorically that the manuscript did not exist, who visited the Hemis monastery itself, determined to expose as a fraud Notovitch.
On arrival at Hemis, Ahbedananda Swami was given freedom to conduct their own research. To his amazement, he found a manuscript detailing the life of "Issa" existed, and consisted of 224 verses. Swami Ahbedananda later published a translation of these verses in Bengali, and that was almost identical to the published text Notovitch earlier.
Swami left the monastery Hemis Ahbedananda convinced of the existence of the manuscript, and the authenticity of the legend of "Issa" and details of his life in Ladakh before returning to the land of his birth to the age of twenty years.
The validity of the Tibetan script in detail the lives of "Issa" We finally confirmed without doubt by a fellow traveler in Russia in 1925. The artist and philosopher Nicholas Roerich lamasery East visited Hemis and saw for himself this document legendary.
Roerich and his wife Helena had carried out an extensive shipping across India and neighboring countries, the research traditions spiritual. In August 1925, which came to Leh, where they remained for a month.
It was during this period that Roerich heard rumors about secret documents on the life of Issa (Jesus) who were said to be stored near the Tibetan monastery of Hemis. He then went to the monastery and was able to see for yourself.
In 1926, Roerich published notes of his travels through the Himalaya title. In this report, made specific mention the fact that the manuscript had been left abandoned Christ in the most dark and the Lamas base Hemis shown little interest in the manuscript. As he writes:
"With regard to the manuscripts of Christ – First there was total denial of the missionaries. Course of denial is the first in the group. Then slowly slowly sliding reluctant piecemeal information difficult to obtain. Finally, it seems – in the manuscripts, older people in Ladakh have seen and heard. "
"And the documents and manuscripts in Christ and the Book of Chambhalla are in place the" dark. "The figure of the flame – The compiler of the book – is emerging as an idol to some kind of harness exceptional. And how many other relics have been lost in the dusty corners? To Tantric Lamas have no interest in them. "
