Does anyone know a quote on the trenches of Vietnam books, letters or journals?
I am doing a graphics project in Vietnam and I am using quotes from letters and books. I would use a quote from my trench a picture of a time my grandfather was in Vietnam. If anyone has any direct quotations from any source please let me know.
Please read novel entitled The Things They Carried in the Vietnam War, written by Tim O'Brien, a Vietnam veteran. It is so realistic that one is often asked if the book is fiction or nonfiction. He won a National Book Award 1979. Here's an example: "After the helicopter off Lavender, Lieutenant Jimmy Cross led his men in the village of Than Khe burned everything .. They killed the chickens and dogs, who plundered the town itself, which called for Artillery and saw the wreckage, then walked for several hours in the hot afternoon, then at dusk, while Kiowa explained how he died Lavender, Lieutenant Cross found himself trembling. He tried not to mourn. With its consolidation tool, weighing five pounds, which began digging a hole in the land. I was embarrassed. He hated himself, he had loved Martha more than his men, and therefore Lavender was dead, and it was something that should be carried like a stone in the stomach for the rest of the war. All I could do was dig. He used his trench tool like an ax, slashing, feeling love and hate and then, when complete darkness, sat in the back of his hole and cried. "I can not imagine a better place than the things they find citations of Approval realistic trenches in Vietnam. You can go on Amazon Online Reader to preview the book.
