Where I can find a job reading audio books?
Work as a customer service representative of the house now and I have a voice who speaks excellent. I want to start a career of reading books or voiceovers done. I know I can pay "agent" sites that can help me find a job, but not pay anything to start. I hope someone can help!
First – and this may seem like a laugh – as a volunteer reader for the blind to their station PBS local radio, if one is available. Second, you could volunteer in a drive to the local library. Check among your friends. If one of them are in the sector broadcasting should have a clue in some of the advertising agencies. Local studies offer extras auditions to appear in radio … but provided people in "the business, so to speak. Many audio books are made by people who wrote them, in many cases. If you write a book, you can read the contract itself. It is unusual for people with no experience in broadcasting are allowed in the commercial end. You do not have to work some changes to a local radio station for his "chops" ready. That "may" have a beautiful sound. However, you have to let the sound will be evaluated by professionals … and even women broadcasters is brutal when it comes to new talent. It also depends on where you live. New York, Chicago, Indianapolis, Nashville, Los Angeles Atlanta, Washington DC, the city is warm voice to work because they have studio facilities. And … these are the major media markets. Suggestions? Starve the early years. I met personally worked, and watched some of the benefits in my market. I've also done commercial voice work for me same, and based on that you know and what they needed. I also know that some of their gains so much work that have become part of their studies of transmission houses. I say go ahead … but have a thick skin. I have 20 years experience of broadcasting in many formats. Many bumps in the road. But … if you want … follow forward. Agents? Not at this stage of the game. Broadcasting schools? Negative. You can learn more at work, an NPR station, a station on a college or a commercial radio station than anything else. Always working for the people in time … even in marketing. Only after a property agent "discovery" … and not before. Another "on the wall suggestion … find someone in your area who is an entrepreneur who wants to write / produce an audiobook. Some authors are not" big " front of a microphone and rent a booth or at least someone to "help" to Read … if they can find someone reliable. It will take a bit of noise, and reading the pages of local businesses to identify someone.
