Help children learn to read
Why read a book to a child who still do not know the meaning of a word or words at all? Why sing to a toddler who does not understand the song?
Both activities help children make connections between words and meaning. They also help to create a warm and safe for children and lead to a lifelong love of reading and learning.
Some parents assume that learning to read starts with memorizing the alphabet and pronunciation of words, but actually the fundamentals of reading begin much earlier. The adults lay the foundations reading every day, when they point out objects and describe what they are doing while dressing an infant grocery store with a toddler, or cooking with a preschooler.
The most important thing is to teach children about reading becomes an activity that takes children around the caring adults in their lives. Here are some tips to help families who want their children to links between meaning and words.
The babies
• Talk or sing to your baby when you change his diaper, give him a bath, food, lunch and participate in the game
• Establishment pounds of cardboard or cloth with vibrant images. Note that at this stage your baby may enjoy watching, throw, or chew reading books!
• Help increase your baby's vocabulary by playing "What?" Or "Where is the teddy bear? "If you listen to the books together.
• Point out words on signs in the park, zoo, or walking or driving.
• When children begin to notice letters on blocks or other toys, name the letters for them. Read the words aloud and explain what they mean.
Toddlers
• Read bedtime stories make a good transition between active play and rest. Young children may be asked to read several times their favorites. You can start to link images words or fill in missing data means that if you hesitate.
• Allow children to "write" shopping lists with you. They want to see that sort coupons and participate in other food.
• Take short trips to new places and talk about what is happening around you. If possible, in relation on similar events before and after.
• Give children magnetic letters for the fridge, and start typing words and names as toddlers are inserted into them.
Preschoolers
• Encourage preschool children to carry out the steps of prescriptions written or read printed labels at the store.

• Playing card games with your child's photo, but remember, they can not always play at that age!
• Provide a variety of materials to encourage children to "play" on reading and writing checks or traffic tickets, menus or greeting cards.

• Continue to read with your child, especially before bed although he has learned to read.
• Visit the library regularly to make books a regular part of life for children. Show the children who have read books and magazines for information and enjoyment.
• Listen to Children write stories and jokes or riddles. Encourage them to write their ideas.
• Games such as crossword puzzles Boggle or Scrabble with your child.
