Why can not sell international editions of textbooks used in amazon.com?
Usually, after my semester is over I can sell my books on amazon.com, but amazon.com will not let you sell international editions. international editions are exactly the same, except it has a top and pockets The lid has a different design. It is illegal to buy or sell international editions. Supreme Court ruled in 1998 that the international edition books can be bought and sold in the United States, even if the editor does not approve. The Editors do not want students to use international edition, as they are much cheaper and not make money if U.S. students for use. But besides that I see no real reason amazon.com prohibit the sale of the international edition books on its website web when they are actually legal to sell and buy in the U.S.. Why? several sites as bookbyte.com, half.com and others allow the sale and purchase international editions books, but amazon.com
good question, perhaps because if a book is available only internally, but not in America can be removed from the U.S.
