My travel insurance covering a meeting cancellation?
I had to go to a meeting in Japan, and was canceled. I travel insurance, but do not subscribe to travel insurance after booking the flight. The meeting was canceled. Will insurance cover the cost of the flight? The purpose of the meeting was canceled to make a difference? (In this case, was postponed because of the tsunami, although he could still physically travel to Japan using cheap) Thanks in advance.
Probably not. Trip Cancellation purchased in the United States is called hedging. The most common risk that is closer to cancellations caused by a disaster natural that makes your destination to be uninhabitable. Now, some travel insurance plans include a separate clause to "cancel for any reason." This clause is usually an option you have to pay and you can cancel for any reason not covered by the basic policy. Seems not to cancel the trip due to hedged risk.
